Rules For Voting
Voting is simple and easy, only two rules apply:

• you must be registered to vote and;
• you can only vote once per poll. Vote on as many polls as you like, it's your choice.

Rules For Submitting Polls

• The Global Poll will give priority to locally based pollsters. For example, The Global Poll in Australia gives priority to Australian based organisations or persons wishing to undertake a poll in Australia, although anyone anywhere in the world can vote. This avoids non-residents of a region saturating the local pollster opportunities.
• Before you submit a poll you must be registered and logged in.
• The Poll(s) you submit must fit into one of the 9 categories.

Selection Process
When you submit a poll it may go through a random selection process, this is due to the volume of polls we may receive, so to keep it fair, polls are randomly selected. If your poll is selected it then requires approval to ensure it is not offensive or illegal. On approval the poll is queued ready for the next available poll period. The random selection process will not be used if the amount of polls being submitted do not require it.

We will keep you informed via email of the status of your poll, if it's been selected, approved, queued, when the poll will open or if the poll has been rejected. If your poll has been rejected, we will let you know and give you the opportunity to change it and re-submit it without having to go through the random selection process again. You can submit or resubmit polls as many times as you like.

Your submitted poll remains in our data base for 30 days available for random selection. If your poll has not been selected within 30 days, the poll will be cleared from data base, you will be notified and have the opportunity to re-submit the poll. We do this so their is not an oversized data base with so many polls you have little chance of ever been selected. Remember, you can submit or resubmit polls as many times as you like.

Reserving Your Poll Space

Those who want to be certain of the opportunity to run a poll can reserve their polling space in advance. Just email us via the Feedback link and we will contact you about your requirements. A fee for reserving a poll(s) applies.

What are Open Polls?

At any given time various polls will be open and available for voting before being closed at the designated time. Generally no more than 18 polls we be open at any one time.

What are Closed Polls?

Once a poll is closed and no longer open to voting, it remains available for viewing for 3 months, after that time, the poll is archived into our system and available only on request. A fee applies.

What are Regular Polls?

A Regular Poll is a poll that is open to voters for 72 hours commencing at 00:00 GMT. Regular Polls that are open for longer than 72 hours may also be approved from time to time.

What are Hot Polls?

A Hot Poll is a poll that you believe is a very current topic and should be run as soon as possible. The Global Poll will need to approve and agree that your poll is a hot topic otherwise it will be run as a Regular Poll. Should your poll be of a "Hot Topic" nature and run as soon as possible, please select the Request Hot Poll check box when creating your poll and we will be notified of your request. If we agree, it will be run as a Hot Poll. Hot Polls are open to voters for 24 hours commencing at 00:00 GMT. Hot Polls that are open for longer than 24 hours may also be approved from time to time.

What are Withheld Results?
A Withheld Poll means that results are not available to be viewed until after the poll is closed. Select the check box when creating the poll if you want the results withheld and shown only when the poll is closed.

How to Register
Registration is required to vote on polls or to submit your own poll(s). Registration is simple and quick, in minutes you could be voting or submitting your very own polls. Go here to register.

How to Update Your Details

Your details can be updated at any time when you are logged in by clicking on the Your Details link at the top of the page.

How to Vote on Polls

You must be logged in to vote on polls. To vote on a poll, click on the Poll Name, read the poll and answer with your preference. It's that simple, you're done!

How to View Poll Results

You can view the results of any poll without logging in. Just click on the poll of your choice and view the results in a snapshot, click on More Details to see graphs and demographics.

How To Submit Polls (Pollster)

You must be logged in to create and submit new polls. To submit a poll, click on the Submit Poll link at the top of the page and provide the details of your poll. You complete a simple form with the details that is sent straight to us for processing. Try it, it’s very simple.
